Possibly the most famous view in all of Lanzarote, especially useful for film makers wishing to depict an 'alien landscape'. Most notably, this location (and others on the island) has been used in the science fiction film "Enemy Mine". This picture shows the dramatic edge of the crater, with the green lagoon in the centre. The water enters via an underground route from the ocean and really is deep green in colour! The pale and dark 'specks' to the right of the lagoon, half way down the picture are a mother with her child. They are walking on the fine black volcanic 'sand' common on the island. |
